Ms. Julia Pace

Julia Lavette Pace was born September 1, 1956, in Houston, TX to Gloria Maxfield and Charles Maxfield. Julia is the third child of seven children. She accepted Christ at an early age and encouraged her children to do the same. She at- tended Jesse H. Jones High School; Class Of 1975 and was a proud Falcon Legionnaire Dancer. Upon graduating high school, she ventured into different career paths, however she realized she was most passion- ate about healthcare. She received her nursing assistant licenses and then became a certified phlebotomist. Her most recent employment was with Richmond State School where she devoted herself to her patients up until her retire- ment. Julia dedicated over thirty years as a healthcare pro- fessional. Julia was compassionate and caring towards everyone that she knew. She would do whatever she could for every- one and never expected anything in return. She was such a nurturing person. She loved her kids unconditionally and provided her full support or just a listening ear if needed. She embraced any child she encountered. All her chil- dren’s friends would refer to her as mom because she was always picking them up from practice, preparing dinner and giving rides home from games. She was also an amaz- ing cook and could always bring people together over a good meal. When she wasn’t looking after her grandkids, she loved to watch the Lifetime Movie Network and record- ed just about every movie until the disk was full. She loved getting festive and decorating for the holidays as well as spending quality time with her family. Julia will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories, her children, Dundre Maxfield, Barbara [Hakim] Muhammad, Lakesha [Michael] Garrett, and Julian Pace. Six grandchildren, Julian Jr., Aiden (Kundre), Olivia, Amir, Maliyah and Michael Jr., three god- sons Keyone, Reyshun and John Boyd, mom, Gloria Maxfield, sisters Deborah Smith and Carolyn Campbell. Julia also leaves a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, ex- tended family, and friends. Julia is proceeded in death by her father Charles Maxfield and four siblings Charles Maxfield Jr, Blanche Peavy, Arthur Maxfield and Clance Maxfield.
