Mr. Kelly Beacher Keeton

Kelly Beacher Keeton was born on March 3rd 1931 to the parentage of Mr. Grundy Gardner and Ms. Hattie Keeton of Lexington, Kentucky. His family later moved to Canton Ohio where he grew up. After growing up in Canton and working alongside his father on the railroads, Kelly, being the maverick that he was lied about his age to register for the United States Army early. Kelly served in the Korean War as a mechanic behind enemy lines. You could often hear him retelling of the time he was stuck in the trenches for days on end in frigid weather causing his feet to be frost bitten. Even in the midst of the adversity, he liked it so nice, he toured twice! After his time serving on the frontlines of war, he was later stationed in Fort Hood, Texas. While on the army base he found a love for cooking and he also found the love of his life Dorothy Glynn Burns. Together, they had 3 Children David Keeton Sr., Newton Slaughter Jr. and Kelly Renee Keeton. By this time, the family had uprooted and moved to Austin Texas, where they experienced an improved quality of life. Kelly was a man of many gifts and cooking proved to be one of them. The Keetons quickly became the go to party people with the launch of their very own catering business. Kelly was often tapped to cater for The Who’s Who in Austin. Kelly also worked many of years for the Frank Siddons Insurance Agency. They became a 2nd family to the Keetons. You would often walk into the office to the smell of mouth watering aromas only find Kelly making an breakfast for his co-workers. That’s the kind of man he was. He simply loved people. In fact, he never met a stranger. It was difficult to go anywhere without him speaking to almost everyone he saw. Kelly was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy, Son David Keeton Sr., and Daughter Kelly Renee Keeton. He leaves behind to his Son Newton Slaughter Jr, Granddaughters Stephanie Keeton, Jessica Mackey, Alicia Keeton, Ariana Keeton and Jasmin Keeton and Grandsons Joseph and David Keeton. In addition he leaves several great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by not only his family, but his friends as well.
