Mrs. Sandra Navarre Ross

Mrs. Sandra Navarre Ross, a beloved wife, mother, sister and friend passed away on July 22, 2024, surrounded by family. Born on September 9, 1955, Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Arthur and Mrs. Rita Navarre, and her beloved daughter, Iyanna Mitchell. Sandra’s journey was marked by love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. She found a special joy in helping others; always extending a helping hand and offering a word of encouragement. Sandra attended Mc Donogh #35 High School, where she played in the band. In addition, she matriculated at Southern University, where she graduated with a degree in Accounting. After which, Sandra had a successful career in the Insurance industry, where she worked in Management until her retirement. Sandra experienced a rich Christian upbringing. As a child, she attended in New St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, where her father, Rev. Arthur Navarre, Sr. served as senior pastor. Years later, she became a member of Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church in New Orleans, La., and was a dutiful choir member, before relocating to Texas. After moving to Houston, she became a member of the Church Without Walls, where she faithfully served in the Media Ministry. Sandra was the devoted wife to Mr. Walter L. Ross for 34 wonderful years. She was the sister to Arthur J. Navarre, Jr. She was the devoted mother of Dana Wilson, and bonus-mother to Shelantha Ross Sylva and LaJay Lee. She was the grandmother to Ernest Williams IV, Tyler Spencer, Gavin Oliver, Phillip Livas II, Wynton Joseph, Karmello Joseph, Ross Joseph, Devante Lee, Devin Lee, Jordan Lee and Cessileh Lee, Great-grandmother to Diza and Caius Joseph, and Godmother to Danielle Daniels and Erica Bickham. She was also amazing aunt to a host of nieces and nephews, and will also be missed by many special friends, church members, classmates and acquaintances. Sandra was a member of the Katy Business Association, where she served as Vice-President. She was also a member of Angels Surviving Cancer, Inc., where she served as treasurer. She also faithfully served in the media ministry at the Church without Walls. Aside from her professional and community endeavors, Sandra enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, quilting, shopping, travelling and spending quality time with her husband, family and friends. Sandra loved the Lord with all her heart. She was an amazing person and showed love to everyone she met. Sandra’s legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. May she rest in eternal peace with our heavenly Father, in Jesus’ mighty name.
