Obituary With profound sadness and grateful hearts, we celebrate the life of Chester Raymond Maylone, who was born on May 18, 1968, in Muscatine, Iowa, to Roy Maylone and Lillie Leach. Chester peacefully entered eternal rest on July 16, 2026, at 1:30 a.m., in Cypress, Texas. Chester was raised in Muscatine, Iowa, where he attended Muscatine High School and later Muscatine Community College. He eventually made his home in Houston, Texas, before relocating to Cypress, Texas, where he spent his final years. Chester proudly served his country in the United States Navy, carrying the values of honor, commitment, and service throughout his life. Following his military service, he retired and was known for his generous spirit, unwavering compassion, and willingness to help anyone in need. He wasn’t just the loudest voice in the room—he had the biggest heart. Chester made strangers feel like family, always seemed to have an answer when life became difficult, and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. His kindness, wisdom, and unforgettable laughter left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know him. Chester found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved listening to Elvis Presley, enjoyed watching anime, collected coins, and cherished every opportunity to laugh, dance, spend time with family and friends, and create memories that will be treasured forever. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Pat Maylone; his children, Coby Smith, Noah Smith, Latoya Alcindor, Keron Grant, Stacey Grant, and Shane Everiste; his loving mother, Lillie Leach; his father, Roy Maylone; his stepfather, William Leach; his sister, Linda Tucker (Scott Tucker); his brothers, Ernie Maylone, Leroy Maylone (Bridget), Rick Maylone (Melissa), and Jeff Leach (Stephanie); his stepsister, Louri Maylone; and his cherished nieces and nephews—Derrick, Julia, Josh, Mairilee, Nichole, Ashley, Andrew, LeAnn, Devon, Thomas, Daulton, Kalu, and Kali—along with many extended family members and dear friends. Chester’s light continues to shine through the countless lives he touched.
