Mr. Harrison Truscott

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27 Harrison Christopher Amora-Truscott was born in Houston, Texas on April 4, 1990 to John Micheal Truscott and Teresa Elizabeth Amora. Harrison left his family and friends unexpectedly on Thursday, June 22, 2023. Harrison was reared in Humble and introduced and baptized into the Christian faith as a child at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Bordersville, Texas under Pastor Wilbert C. Baker on October 11, 1998. He attended Magrill Elementary, Aldine Jr. High, and Nimitz High Schools. He prepared himself for his military dreams by joining the ROTC program during high school and immediately joined the United States Marine Corps after graduation in September 2008. There was never a question or doubt that Harrison had a deep love and commitment in serving his country. Harrison was deployed twice and toured in Afghanistan where he served as both a Squad Leader and Infantry Assaultman. He was honorably discharged in April 2012. He was a part of Task Force Punisher military group after coming home. Harrison immediately enrolled at Lone Star College upon his return home and graduated in 2015 with his associate degree in Associate of Arts. He worked in the security field but was aiming to join a local law enforcement group. In his spare time, he studied and competed as an MMA fighter and traveled to Thailand to compete as a boxer in the World Muay Thai Championships in 2013 with the USA team. Harrison was all about knowing who he was and his origins. He researched his family history and through DNA, he discovered his entire background heritage. But it was his Native American heritage that drawn him in the most. He volunteered with Calmecac Indigenous Organization/Houston Aztec Dance & Drum, a local Native American organization in his spare time and participated in many events. He even volunteered with Native Americans against the North America pipeline. The gift of his time and always ready to help anyone in need were characteristics that made Harrison loved by many and the true gems of his personality! If you knew Harrison, you were in the presence of someone who was filled with confidence and humor. Harrison would bring joy and at the same time, a wicked sense of humor in whatever space he was in…. whether at a family function, work, or on social media (aka The Meme King/Lord). These qualities will be sorely missed by all. In April of 2019, Harrison was blessed to become a father of a beautiful baby girl, Nayeli. Harrison was never shy when it came to talking or showing pictures of his baby girl. And you would see the love of a father – daughter daily in their eyes. Their bond was unbreakable especially when he introduced her to his love of Marvel comics (NOT DC). From their adventures at Comicpalooza to her imitating Spiderman, Nayeli was her dad’s everything. Harrison has left this earth in physical form, but his spirit lives through this parents, John (Leah) and Teresa Elizabeth Amora; his siblings, Brittany (William), Eric, Ashley (Trace), and Giraud (Sarah); his nephew, Benjamin; his aunts and uncles, Lonell (spouse), Larry, Vanessa, Deidre (spouse), Benita (spouse), Jennifer, Dana, Desiree, Luis and a host of cousins, other family members and friends who truly loved him.
