Mrs. Kristin B. Gilbreath

Kristin was Born on December 23, 1973, to Lillian Bailey and the late Elvis Bailey. She was a cherished daughter whose life was firmly rooted in faith from the very beginning. At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and remained a faithful member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church throughout her life. Calvary was more than her church—it was her lifelong spiritual home, where she worshipped, served, and nurtured lasting relationships. Kristin received her education through Houston Independent School District public schools before proudly attending Texas Southern University, where she earned a degree in Accounting. A proud TSU Tiger, she carried the values of excellence, perseverance, and service throughout her personal and professional life. For more than 30 years, Kristin built a distinguished career in banking. She was admired for her professionalism, integrity, and dedication, earning the respect of colleagues and customers alike. Her work ethic reflected her commitment to serving others with excellence and compassion. Throughout her career, Kristin also demonstrated her passion for leadership, community, and served as the Secretary of The Houston Black and African American Employee Business Resource Group (EBRG). She helped support, connect, and empower colleagues while promoting a culture of belonging and excellence. Beyond her accomplishments, Kristin’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted and loving wife to her husband, Charles Gilbreath, with whom she shared 25 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, partnership, and cherished memories. She was a proud and devoted mother to her beloved son, Christopher, and a caring stepmother to LaShonda, embracing her family with unconditional love and support. Kristin was preceded in death by her beloved father, Elvis Bailey. She leaves to cherish her precious memory her husband, Charles Gilbreath; her loving son, Christopher; her stepdaughter, LaShonda; her devoted mother, Lillian Bailey; her beloved sister, Blythe Gilbert (Sean Gilbert); her treasured niece and nephew, Sean and Shona Gilbert; along with a host of loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. She also has extended family members, which includes church family, dear friends, and colleagues whose lives were forever enriched by her warmth, generosity, and unwavering faith. Kristin will be remembered for her gentle spirit, radiant smile, steadfast faith, and the love she freely shared with everyone she encountered. She lived a life marked by grace, service, leadership, and devotion to God and family. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of faith, love, kindness, and commitment to uplifting others will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her. “Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23
